The first Gala Night, formerly Formal Night, is the second night of our cruise and none of us men have decided to rent a tux. This reduces the preasure for our women to pack formal gowns. Though a jacket and tie is suggested, it is not required. While I understand and appreciate the freedom and comfort this provides, there is still a part of me that misses this tradition of cruising which seems strange as at one time dressing for dinner was one of the major beefs I had with the idea of cruising and used it to decline to go time and time again.
We are a loud and boisterous group and the wait staff has a grand time with us as well. We typically close down the dining room as we are the last party to leave. This is because we are lauging and sharing stories and thoroughly enjoying each others company.

Afterwards we all go and catch the show in the Vista Showroom which tonight is a comedian. He is funny, though most of his jokes are aimed at the septuagenerian crowd. We are all well below the average age of the guests on this ship.
